The African Science Academy (ASA) is a girls-only Advanced Level school for mathematics and science, founded by the African Gifted Foundation in 2016. It serves as a boarding school for young women from across Africa with outstanding potential in maths and science. In a single academic year, students complete globally respected Cambridge International A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. ASA also offers robotics and computer science programs alongside A-Levels to prepare students for careers in Engineering, Science, Computing, and more.
I joined ASA as a board member in 2022, driven by my background in mathematics, passion for women's empowerment, and commitment to African development. ASA's vision aligns with my values, and I've witnessed the life transformations achieved when providing the right environment for already gifted girls. Many of these students, some from underprivileged backgrounds or facing difficult situations, undergo a year of comprehensive care, rigorous training, leadership development, and support for their dreams. As a result, they gain admission to some of the best universities globally, often with full scholarships.
